Every year there is a new Grade 12 class who will be preparing for their final school examinations. These examinations are high-stakes, given that these determine how your life will progress and consequently they are also stressful.
I am providing many pages within this web site to help you improve your marks for the Grade 12 examination.
To get started, I would like to read a post which I published some time ago, in which I explain my method for addressing mathematics exam questions. Please read that post first, since I use that approach throughout this site.
Working through an Exam Paper in Full
I am planning to take you through a complete prior exam paper for mathematics, starting with the Feb-Mar 2017 supplementary paper. This paper has a similar structure to other mathematics examinations from the past five years. However, it is not guaranteed that the structure will remain the same, but the broad allocation of marks to the specific topics is defined and will remain the same. Thus, this examination provides a glimpse into what you can expect to see in October/November.
I t is my goal to help you to pass the exam, by identifying areas in which you should be doing well, and also those areas which may be more challenging in which you may struggle. I will also treat Paper 1 and Paper 2 as a unit, as essentially one six-hour exam, rather than as two three-hour exams, often written on the Friday and the following Monday, and often towards the start of the examination schedule.
